Lincoln is well-known for style, comfort, and luxury. When you sit behind the wheel of a Lincoln, you enjoy all these benefits and an advanced driver assistance system that keeps you and your passengers safe. As your Lincoln dealership, we want to tell you about some of the safety features you’ll enjoy in your Lincoln.
From Your Lincoln Dealership: 3 Advanced Safety Features in the 2025 Lincoln Lineup
Pre-Collision Assist With Automatic Emergency Braking
Accidents can unfortunately happen at any time, regardless of how carefully you drive. This system works to prevent collisions using sophisticated radar and camera technology to scan the road ahead for vehicles or pedestrians. If something is detected, the system measures the distance to the object using radar and then compares it to your speed to determine if you’re traveling too fast and a collision is possible.
You’ll receive audio and visual warnings if the distance to the object is closing too rapidly, giving you enough warning to hit the brakes or swerve to prevent an accident. If you’re unable to react in time, automatic emergency braking is activated to bring your Lincoln to an almost instant stop. This will prevent a collision or reduce the damage caused.
Auto High Beam Headlamps
High beams are essential for night driving, particularly in poorly lit areas, as they allow you to see the road ahead, pedestrians, or other vehicles. Unfortunately, the beam’s direct angle can temporarily blind other drivers, and this could result in an accident. While you can manually switch from high to low beams, this takes your attention away from the road.
This feature uses sensors to identify lights from vehicles in front or headed in your direction. When lights are detected, your headlamps automatically switch to low beams. Once the light source disappears, the headlamps revert to high beams.
Lane Keeping System
When you’re driving, it’s easy to drift toward the lane line boundaries without realizing it. This is particularly true at night, and it is risky as you could collide with a vehicle already in the adjacent lane. This system uses a dedicated camera to scan the road for lane lines and boundary markings. Once the markings are identified, the system works to keep you within your lane.
If Lane Keeping detects you’re about to cross a line boundary and aren’t actively steering, you’ll receive audio and visual warnings to alert you. This feature provides increased steering torque to make turning back into your lane faster so you can avoid a potential accident. It temporarily deactivates when your direction indicator is active and resumes cooperation once you’re inside your new lane.
These are just some of the many standard safety systems that protect you. If you’d like to know more, contact us today at Astro Lincoln in Pensacola, FL.
